Medical Professionals

These courses are intended for any medical provider required to maintain a BLS, PALS or ACLS certification, including but not limited to nurses, doctors, prehospital providers, and support personnel. Colorado Cardiac CPR and First Aid also offers an EKG interpretation course perfect for beginners and experienced providers alike.

Basic Life Support

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

ACLS is an advanced course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. 

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

PALS is an advanced course for healthcare providers that covers the knowledge and skills to better recognize and treat critically ill infants and children. Upon completion, students will understand how to recognize respiratory failure, shock, and cardiac arrest and initiate advanced resuscitation.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program

The American Academy of Pediatrics’  NRP is an excellent option for anyone in the medical field who has yet to receive their certificate. Any medical professional working in Labor and Delivery and the NICU, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, should have a deep understanding of the principles and practice of neonatal resuscitation.

EKG Interpretation

Colorado Cardiac CPR offers three courses in EKG Interpretation. They are structured for beginners to experienced providers looking to advance their knowledge on reading EKG rhythms.

Advanced Medical Life Support

AMLS is an advanced EMS education course that fully addresses how to best assess and manage the most common medical crises in patients.  This course is for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians and other prehospital providers. 

CPR Classes for Other Professions and Laypersons

These courses are available to everybody. Both Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT) and Basic CPR/AED and First Aid training are popular with teachers, administrators, daycare workers, and laypersons.

Basic CPR/AED and First Aid

Basic CPR/AED and First Aid is a beginner course designed for anyone who is NOT in a healthcare profession, but wants or needs to know the basics of CPR, AED use, and First Aid in case of an emergency.

First Aid

This course covers first aid basics including how to respond to medical, injury, and environmental emergencies. This class does NOT include CPR. You will receive a 2 year certification through the American Heart Association certification after completing this 3-hour course.

Active Violence Emergency Response Training

AVERT is an HSI certified class gives participants the skills to evaluate a threat, respond rapidly to an active shooter scenario and control bleeding in a life-threatening incident. AVERT is more than a basic active shooter scenario class, it trains graduates to not only respond to the situation, but prepares them to deal with potential injuries, especially excess bleeding in casualties.

Trauma / Emergency Professionals

These courses are intended for civilian trauma professionals and members of the military. These multi-day courses give students the opportunity to practice hands-on skills in a simulated combat environment in addition to lecture material.

Trauma Nurse Core Course

TNCC is an advanced course through the Emergency Nurses Association that prepares nurses to provide high quality, trauma nursing care. This course is for registered nurses.

Tactical Medicine

TCCC is an advanced course created by the U.S. Department of Defense Committee on TCCC to teach strategies for providing trauma care on the battlefield. TCCC discusses care under fire, tactical field care, and tactical evacuation care.

Prehospital Trauma Life Support

PHTLS is an advanced course created to improve the quality of prehospital emergency trauma care.  This course is for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians and other prehospital providers.
