Colorado Cardiac CPR | Instructor Classes

Colorado Cardiac CPR offers Instructor courses for BLS, Heartsaver CPR and First Aid, ACLS, and PALS. If you have a passion for First Aid or CPR instruction, than a Colorado Cardiac CPR Instructors course may be a great addition to your medical or tactical trauma skills.

Becoming a BLS, Heartsaver CPR and First Aid, ACLS, or PALS Instructor is a great way to continue your CPR / Life Support education. If you have completed your Instructor Course, you may want to come teach at Colorado Cardiac CPR.

Detailed Description

BLS Instructor

If you would like to teach both BLS for Healthcare Providers and Heartsaver CPR and First Aid, our BLS instructor course will certify you to teach both of these classes through the American Heart Association. This course consists of obtaining a BLS certification and learning all about the process of teaching a course.  After taking your BLS Instructor course, you will then schedule a time to co-teach a BLS course at Colorado Cardiac CPR.  You must complete at least one quality co-teach before obtaining your instructor certification.

ACLS Instructor

To become an ACLS Instructor, you must first be a BLS Instructor and be a paramedic, RT, or RN.  To become an ACLS Instructor, you must go through an ACLS Instructor course and co-teach for a minimum of 20 hours.

PALS Instructor

To become a PALS Instructor, you must first be a BLS and ACLS Instructor and be a paramedic, RT, or RN.  To become a PALS Instructor, you must go through a PALS Instructor course and co-teach for a minimum of 20 hours.

Heartsaver CPR and First Aid Instructor

If you would like to teach Heartsaver CPR and First Aid, our instructor course will provide you with a current Heartsaver certification and Heartsaver Instructor certification through the American Heart Association.  Completion of this course will allow you to teach CPR and First Aid to the general population, but NOT to healthcare providers.  This course consists of obtaining a Heartsaver certification and learning all about the process of teaching a course.  After taking your Instructor course, you will then schedule a time to co-teach a Heartsaver CPR and First Aid at Colorado Cardiac CPR.  You must complete at least one quality co-teach before obtaining your instructor certification.

Instructor Renewals

Do you need to renew your American Heart Association Instructor credentials? Do you want to transfer you or your Training Site to Colorado Cardiac CPR and First Aid as your Training Center to allow you and your team more flexibility? This is the class for you!  This class is for current American Heart Association (AHA) Instructors that need to renew their instructor certification.  Regardless if you are a Heartsaver, BLS, PALS or ACLS instructor this is the first step for renewal or transfer.

During the class you will complete paperwork to keep your instructor file up to date as well as go over any changes or updates to keep current.   You will also schedule a date to come back and co-teach.  Upon successful completion of this class and co-teaching your instructor certification will be renewed for an additional 2 years.

TCCC-Instructor

To be eligible for the TCCC Instructor Course, you must be a licensed physician, physician assistant, EMT or Paramedic, or hold an NREMT certification at the EMT, AEMT or Paramedic level, or hold a military medic instructor credential issued by one of the U.S. Armed Services. Additionally, you must have successfully passed a TCCC-CMC course offered through NAEMT within the last year.

Within 3-months of successful completion of this course, you are required to complete the following:

  • Observe a full TCCC Course taught by Colorado Cardiac CPR and First Aid.
  • Assist in teaching portions of another TCCC Course.
  • Depending on your performance, you may be asked to co-teach additional classes until you are adept.

This course does not provide NAEMT certification or CAPCE credits.

PHTLS-Instructor

To be eligible for the PHTLS Instructor Course, you must be a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse, EMT or Paramedic, or hold an NREMT certification at the EMT, AEMT or Paramedic level, or hold a military medic instructor credential issued by one of the U.S. Armed Services.

Within 3-months of successful completion of this course, you are required to complete the following:

  • Observe a full PHTLS Course taught by Colorado Cardiac CPR and First Aid.
  • Assist in teaching portions of another PHTLS Course.
  • Depending on your performance, you may be asked to co-teach additional classes until you are adept.

This course does not provide NAEMT certification or CAPCE credits.

No. There is no prerequisite for becoming a BLS Instructor. Our Training Center Coordinator will ensure you have the knowledge, comprehension, and tools to successfully teach BLS, Heartsaver CPR/AED, and First Aid.

Yes. You must be a BLS instructor as well as be a paramedic, RT, or RN, to teach Advanced Provider courses.
