Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is an advanced course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught using learning stations for practicing essential skills and simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active participation.
Topics include:
- Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device and use of an (AED)
- Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
- Airway management
- Related pharmacology
- Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
- Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team
- Effective Resuscitation Team Dynamics
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is an advanced course designed for healthcare professionals who assist in cardiopulmonary arrest, cardiovascular emergencies, or emergency response. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.
Detailed Description
On-Demand ACLS
This course is designed for individuals who need to renew their ACLS certification or who have extensive prior knowledge of ACLS. It is not recommended for first-time ACLS students.
The online coursework must be completed in advance. Students may then complete the On-Demand Skills Session at their convenience at our Aurora location, which offers 24/7 access for On-Demand training.
This course includes a 2-year certification from the American Heart Association.
The cost of the online portion and On-Demand Skills Session is non-refundable.

FAQ
The American Heart association requires that all students have access to the newest edition of the ACLS Provider Manual during and after the class.
Yes. You can add a BLS certification to any of our ACLS courses for an additional $55. This will allow you to obtain both certifications without having to take two separate classes. Select “Yes” for ‘BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification- Add on’ at registration.
If you require Continuing Education credits for your course, please submit to us, in writing, your request, and send it to the email address PRIOR to the start of your course. According to the American Heart Association, CEUs for in-person courses are only offered to EMS providers. RNs, pharmacists, PAs, and physicians may qualify for CEUs credits if they are enrolled in a Hybrid/Online Skills Course and if eligible can claim these CEUs through their AHA elearning portal.
